DLC win bid to erect Tigers stand for leading UK steel company

Darren Lee Construction are happy to of been chosen by one of the UK’s leading steel construction companies to be a part of the steel erection of the new Leicester Tigers stand.

After completing the erection of the new Northampton Saints stand in Northampton we will now be moving on to a project right on our very own doorstep!

The  Tigers will be investing £8million in the redevelopment of the west side of the Welford Road stadium and plans are underway for a new West Stand which will replace the current Clubhouse building dating back to 1909.

This three-storey building will include 3100 seats, club offices, main ticket office, a premium season ticket lounge, a Tigers retail shop, stadium big screen, stadium control tower, as well as a concourse area that will house Tigers heritage, food kiosks and public bars.

The new West Stand will bring the stadium’s capacity to just under 26,000 and it’s unique shape will help solidify Welford Road’s reputation as one of the most iconic homes of rugby.

Demolition works have already been completed with piling works ongoing leading to the structural erection works which will be completed in time for the start of the Aviva Premiership season. Some of the new stand’s facilities, including offices and it’s premium season ticket lounge, will not be available until December 2015.
